2/25 Marines Learn Battlefield First Aid Story by Capt. Paul L. Greenberg, Marine Forces Reserve |
Reserve Marines from Headquarters and Supply Company, 2nd Battalion, 25th Marine Regiment, 4th Marine Division practice the low carry with a collapsible litter during battlefield first aid training on Camp Upshur at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Va., March 7. Pictured are Cpl Joseph Nelson (front left), Lance Cpl. Damian Garcia (front right), Lance Cpl Daniel Chen (rear left), Lance Cpl Daniel Bonilla (rear right) and Lance Cpl. Joseph Soto on the stretcher. (Official USMC photo by Capt. Paul L. Greenberg) The Marines dove into the practical application portion of the training indoors, as frigid temperatures kept them out of the driving afternoon rain.
They practiced hemorrhage
control, applying tourniquets and moving casualties as part of
the unit’s overall efforts to prepare the Marines for their
upcoming deployment. |
