Hurricane Preparedness

In the event a hurricane is forecast to make landfall in or around the New Orleans area, personnel assigned to Marine Forces Reserve may be directed to evacuate to a safe haven location.

When given the order to evacuate, personnel assigned to the command may be given Temporary Additional Duty orders. Family members of evacuated personnel may receive per diem and meals/incidental expenses entitlements. There are many nuances to evacuation order and entitlements, so personnel are strongly encouraged to speak with their administrative section for a complete break down including maximum daily lodging rates, furniture rental, and reimbursable expenses.
